Licensed Clinical Social Worker

The social worker is responsible for conducting face to face evaluations with patients in order to complete biopsychosocial assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide supportive counseling, crisis intervention and brief, goal directed interventions aimed at improving coping or managing chronic illness. The social worker provides clinical and behavioral health services to Northern Inyo Healthcare District (NIHD) patients and families, makes appropriate community referrals, serves as a liaison between the medical staff and the patient/family and provides interventions designed to minimize patient stress and maximize coping skills to expedite recovery.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited social work program required.
- California License/Certification in good standing.
- On the job experience in the social work field, experience in health care settings is preferred.
- BLS within one month of hire and on-going.
- Adherence to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics and scope of practice.
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to instruct/comfort patients/families; to maintain effective communication/contact with healthcare team members
- Analytical skills necessary in order to prioritize workload and prepare discharge care plans, implement effective discharge care and develop solutions to problems concerning patient’s psychosocial environment.
- Basic computer knowledge including: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Intranet
- Ability to learn Computer software programs applicable to patient care and operations process.
- Able to speak, read and write English.
