The Speech Language Therapist is responsible for assessing patients referred for speech therapy, developing a comprehensive care plan, and delivering effective speech therapy interventions. This role requires collaboration with various hospital departments and medical personnel while upholding the utmost confidentiality regarding patient information. The therapist must conduct all hospital-related activities ethically and in compliance with established guidelines, reporting any instances of potential misconduct as per the organization's compliance policies.
Professional Relationships:
* Reports directly to the Rehabilitation Director.
* Collaborates closely with hospital leadership and various departments, as well as both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Speech Language Therapist I
Mandatory:
* Must be a graduate from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program and possess a valid Speech Pathologist license in California.
* Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Preferred:
* Experience in pediatric therapy.
* Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.
Speech Language Therapist II
Mandatory:
- Graduate from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program with a current Speech Therapy license in California and the Certificate of Clinical Competence for Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
- Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- At least 3 years of experience as a licensed Speech Language Pathologist/Speech Therapist.
- BLS certification within 2 months of hire and ongoing thereafter.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Analytical skills to prioritize tasks and develop solutions for patient care.
- Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Ability to learn various software systems, including Cerner Millennium and others.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred:
- Additional professional experience in related fields.
- A Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology or a related discipline is preferred.
- Advanced certifications recognized by ASHA in the field of Speech Language Pathology.
Speech Language Therapist III
Mandatory:
- Graduate from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program with a current Speech Therapy license in California and the Certificate of Clinical Competence for Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
- Must have met the educational requirements for licensure at the time of initial licensing.
- Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience as a licensed Speech Therapist.
- BLS certification within 2 months of hire and ongoing thereafter.
- Interpersonal skills essential for instructing and comforting patients and families.
- Analytical skills necessary for prioritizing workload and addressing patient care challenges.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Ability to learn various software applications relevant to the role.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred:
- Other relevant professional experience.
- A Doctorate Degree in Speech Language Pathology or a related field is preferred.
- ASHA approved advanced certifications in the field of speech therapy.
Availability for various shifts, including weekends and on-call duties as required.
Full-time or part-time positions available.
