The General Manager is responsible for the achievement of the branch objectives and goals. Successfully evaluate, allocate, and maintain human, physical and financial resources for customers and employees. Promotes growth of the location, the development of sales and administrative staff, and promotes teamwork with other departments to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. This role is very hands-one managing employees and driving business in the Boise area. Pay depends on relevant work experience and can include bonus incentives.

  • Takes complete ownership of all aspects of the business (sales, operations and accounting) and is the link between these departments within the branch.
  • Acts as the liaison between the home office and the branch, supporting promotions and company initiatives.
  • Must be able to make decisions independently while being accountable to the company as well as your respective branch.
  • Think bigger than just your immediate circle of influence and empower employees to do the same.
  • Assists with managing local inventory and minimizing dead stock. Does not shy away from disgruntled customers, perceiving those situations as opportunities that define our level of service and builds customer retention.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Administration:

  • Creates the Store Sales Department budget and goals in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives.
  • Accountable to ensure all budgets are maintained and control spending.
  • Oversees internal/external transfer of equipment between stores.
  • Oversee the local accounts payable approval.
  • Excellent understanding of financial principles relative to branch operations.
  • Ensure employees at the branch receive any “all-employee” communication when they do not have company email accounts.
  • Ability to translate financial reporting and other data to promote sales and actionable items.

Customer Service:

  • Oversee the daily maintenance and security of the facility.
  • Resolve elevated customer issues as needed.
  • Focuses on creating strong relationships with the local representatives and supplier community. Act as the primary contact for local community events and decisions.

Facility:

  • Identify opportunities for asset or capital improvements. Make necessary requests to leadership for approval. Implement capital improvement changes after approval is obtained.
  • Ensure a professional appearance of the facility and surrounding property (parking lot).

Personnel Management:

  • Assist with ensuring daily appropriate staffing coverage of key positions during absences and identify when changes to staffing levels are needed.
  • Manage recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for store sales department.
  • Assist in developing a positive reputation and image in the community that is consistent with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
  • May attend periodic meetings with senior leadership to obtain direction and guidance on company goals.
  • Maintain strategic training goals for department.
  • Work with Human Resources and other departments to ensure employees have proper training for their position.


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or relevant equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of job relevant experience.
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
  • Ability to translate financial reporting to actionable items.
  • Experience dealing with elevated customer issues.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Solid analytical, business planning, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Beginning to intermediate computer skills and ability to utilize all Bargreen Ellingson systems with proficiency. Willingness to keep computer skills updated.
  • Must possess a valid driver license and retain an insurable driving record.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Working Conditions:

Retail store environment, warehouse, and stock room. Exposed to various work surfaces both inside and outside. The work is usually performed inside, but exposure to various environments occur frequently.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently sit for long hours, concentrate on data, detail, screen viewing, typing, use of computers and office equipment with fine motor skills. Ability to lift up-to 25 pounds and up-to 75 assisted.

Travel:

Up to 25%.
