The Maintenance Lead reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of our brewery equipment, facilities, and grounds. The Maintenance Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our brewery, helping us maintain our reputation for producing top-quality craft beers in paradise. Candidates must share Craft ‘Ohana’s commitment to its four operating pillars: Quality of Products, Quality of Life, Quality of Business Practices, and Quality of Manufacturing Operations.
THE EVERYDAY VIEW
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on brewery equipment, including but not limited to brewing systems, fermentation tanks, packaging machinery, and utilities.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
• Utilize our CMMS to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to keep equipment and facilities in optimal condition.
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs, installations, or equipment upgrades.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies to support maintenance activities.
• Oversee facility maintenance, including building repairs, HVAC systems, and grounds upkeep.
• Train and mentor maintenance staff, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and environmental health and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with brewery management to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements and standard operating procedures.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Utilize root cause analysis techniques to investigate equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and environmental health requirements.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in brewery maintenance.
Requirements:DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in relevant field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a brewery or food manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and plumbing.
• Proficiency in reading equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Experience with preventive maintenance software or systems is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.
• Able to stand, walk, and be on your feet for prolonged periods.
• Able to read and follow written instructions.
• Able to regularly twist, turn, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, crawl, lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 55 pounds using appropriate techniques and tools.
• Able to safely navigate the tasting room and snack bar areas, including crowded spaces.
• Able to maneuver packages of any weight above 75 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
• Able to move 165-pounds, using appropriate techniques and tools.
• Able to work in a factory/production environment which may be loud, slick, humid, cold, and hot.
• Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate noise and occasionally slippery floors.
• Able to comply with and enforce all health, safety, and personal hygiene policies and standards.
