Crosby Advisors is a family office, focusing on long term capital appreciation. We have significant assets under management, and our investment team is growing. In terms of equity research, we are expanding our focus in international equity markets, specifically in in Japan, Australia and other parts of Asia.

POSITION DUTIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Primarily to serve as an investment research analyst evaluating publicly traded equities in the Japanese, Australian and Asian equity markets, conducting ongoing multisector equity research, with a focus on new idea generation for the Global Growth portfolio.
  • Be a key contributor evaluating Asian equity exposure in the Global Growth portfolio. This includes utilizing cross-sector investment expertise of Japan/Asia equities, analyzing sectors, industries and companies to make alpha-generating investment recommendations for holdings in Japan, Australia and Asia
  • Conduct due diligence on portfolio holdings and prospective new ideas through corporate engagement, site visits, value-chain analysis, consultation with experts and other investors, meeting with suppliers, customers, competitors and conducting on-the-ground data research.
  • Build relationships across the investment team, with corporates and with sell side counterparties

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree; MBA and/or CFA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience as an equity analyst with multisector experience in Japan, and preferably also in Australia, elsewhere in Asia

Skills and Knowledge

  • Business level fluency in English and Japanese (spoken and written) is required, given this role involves coverage of investment documents and business conversations in both languages.
  • Ability to synthesize insights from multiple sources, and to formulate independent views on industry direction and recommendations on individual stocks
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with a team of portfolio managers and other investment professionals, maintaining proactive communication and an open dialogue.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to do on-the-ground research as this role will require travelling in Asia
  • Have the intellectual maturity and drive to conduct deep-dive due diligence on portfolio holdings and potential new ideas.
  • Possesses strong understanding of financial concepts and excellence in financial modelling
  • Exceptional attention to details, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
