Position Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Mainframe Production Control Specialist to join our team. This remote position involves monitoring and managing production job schedules for USMC payroll, personnel, and accounting application systems operating in an IBM zOS environment.
Position Responsibilities:
Monitor production job schedules for USMC payroll, personnel, and accounting application systems.
Ensure scheduled processes are complete without error or delay.
Design and execute corrective actions in the event of process failures or errors.
Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate on-call personnel.
Position Requirements:
5+ years of experience: Proven experience in operations or programming within a mainframe environment.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with job scheduling software such as Control-M.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Job Control Language (JCL) concepts, procedures, and scripting.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
Learning and Knowledge Sharing: Ability to learn, apply, and disseminate knowledge to others effectively.
Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills.
USMC Systems Knowledge: Understanding of USMC systems and culture.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Specific System Knowledge: Familiarity with SABRS and/or MCTFS systems.
Location: Residency in the Kansas City or Indianapolis area. (Remote Position)
· MUST be a US Citizen
· Must have active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one
Education and Certification:
BS in Computer Science, Informatics, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field preferred
Industry certification required for IAT Level II in accordance with DoD 8570 (for example CompTIA Security+) - willing to obtain prior to start date
