The Senior Controller will oversee Arise Homes’ daily accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Develop and implement financial policies and processes that are tailored to Arise Homes’ needs and goals.  Help guide the company's strategic financial decisions.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represent Arise Homes in a positive and professional manner in and outside of company.
  • Maintain accounting internal controls, policies and processes to ensure adherence to national and local legal standards, GAAP principals, and tax compliance.
  • Preparation and analysis of internal and external financial statements of multiple business entities.
  • Assist with managing banking relationships through providing updated financial reports and oversight of all loan processes including draws, home closings, multi-family rental units, etc.
  • Manage company-wide budgets, proformas, cash flow projections with analysis, as well as development and construction project budgets and cash flows.
  • Provide management with information vital to decision-making processes.
  • Oversee relationship with external tax firm and coordination of tax planning.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and reporting systems, as needed.
  • Oversee and implement risk management solutions incuding as insurance, safety and security policies, business continuity plans, or recovery measures.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources on payroll and benefits administration functions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a major in Accounting
  • 5 years+ experience in Accounting
  • CPA preferred, but not required
  • Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices
  • Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Quickbooks software experience a plus
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, with the ability to work either independently or collaboratively
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build trust
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Be open and prepared to grow professionally within the team as well as the overall company.


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work in temperature controlled environment.
  • Vision for near, mid-range, far and accommodation. Hearing for low, medium, and high pitch.
  • Effective communication skills when dealing with co-workers, trade partners, and home owners.
  • Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist.
  • Must be able to perform all job expectations safely with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

The Senior Controller reports to the Company CFO.

 

JOB HOURS

This is a full-time position. 40 hours per week between the hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
