Job Title: Fire Alarm Service Technician

Our Client specializes in providing industry-specific Safety solutions tailored to protect property, assets and people across a variety of commercial sectors. Due to high growth, they are looking to expand their team in a number of areas, including adding Fire Alarm Service Technicians to their team.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform service calls, including the installation of DynaNet, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, ensuring minimum downtime and maximum performance.
  • Handle the mobilization, wiring, device trim, final hookup, troubleshooting, testing, and final inspection of fire alarm equipment for new jobs.
  • Operate, test, troubleshoot, and program fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Interface with the Engineering department to create accurate documentation and handle warranty service calls as needed.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and specifications. Operate test equipment such as volt meters, ohm meters, oscilloscopes, multimeters, tone generators, and battery testers.
  • Acquire and maintain required tools, consistently analyze and update tools for efficiency, and recommend labor-saving devices.
  • Have working knowledge of construction tools, including ladders, scissor lifts, hand tools, power tools, cordless tools, powder-actuated tools, cutting tools, wire pulling devices, and fastening systems.
  • Follow all company and customer safety programs, maintaining a good driving record and professional grooming.
  • Research and obtain information on position-specific training opportunities, regularly attending and participating in training classes or programs.
  • Obtain a NICET level II within one year of becoming a Fire Alarm Systems Technician.

About You:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Obtain NICET level II certification within one year of hire.
  • Proficient in operating and programming fire alarm panels, reading wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and specifications, and using various test equipment.
  • Familiar with construction and technical tools including ladders, lifts, hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
