This is a long-term potential CTH opportunity. The pay will be $30.00 - $33.00/hour(W2). The conversion is typically around 6 months.

Role Overview: As a Network LAN Engineer at [Your Company Name], you’ll play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our LAN infrastructure. Your expertise in Cisco technologies, network orchestration, and cloud solutions will drive the success of our network refreshes and ensure reliable, high-performance systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Network Design and Implementation:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, configure, and implement LAN solutions.
    • Ensure adherence to best practices for IP addressing and VLSM.
    • Deep understanding of Cisco SDA (Software-Defined Access), DNAC, and Data Center Networking Technologies.
    • Familiarity with VXLAN, ACI, fabric path, and VLAN concepts.
  2. Monitoring and Optimization:
    • Utilize monitoring and alerting tools (Cisco DNAC, ISE, PagerDuty, Nagios, Thousand Eyes) to proactively identify and resolve network issues.
    • Measure, optimize, and fine-tune network performance for reliability and availability.
  3. Leadership and Communication:
    • Lead other contingent workers, partners, and site resources during network refresh projects.
    • Create and present concepts and recommendations to management.
  4. Network Automation and Orchestration:
    • Deep understanding of network orchestration using Cisco ACI, SDA, and DNAC with ISE integration.
    • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Ansible, Perl, Terraform).
  5. Operational Support:
    • Support WAN, LAN, and WLAN environments (including switches, routers, firewalls, security, and WLAN).
    • Function as an escalation point for operational issues.
    • Monitor the system, resolve trouble areas, and document root causes.
  6. Agile Collaboration:
    • Work within Agile methodologies or as part of an Agile team.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in LAN engineering.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable working in complex network environments.
  • Passion for cloud technology architectures.
