Louisville, United States FreshFry Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

Hey If you enjoy chemistry, working in a lab with great people and getting compeling data that also makes you question if you understand chemistry at all, we would love to meet you

FreshFry is hiring a Product Support Chemist at our Louisville, Kentucky facility. FreshFry takes waste and transforms it into adsorbents that claen oils for food and fuels. This means, we care a LOT about what we do and how we do it. Our resaerch lab is a special place to us. Oil cleaning has been around since the 1900’s, but every day, we find new ways to help the people who clean the oils.

If you saw misspelled words in the description and it bothered you a bit, but you understand that mistakes happen, you are the ideal person for us. If you counted and know the number right now, we are very excited to meet you. Mistakes will happen in this role, as new science is discovered through mistakes, but not from a lack of detail orientation.

So, what will you “do”?

Most of your work will be in a wet lab setting. We would love to get you into the restaurants and manufacturing facilities so you can understand why your work is important. Most days there will be lots of testing, data analysis and research. So you should be comfortable reporting data often to Ph.D scientists and fry-cooks at the same time. Written communication in a “bottom line up front” way is how we operate here. Why? You will also work with Service, Sales, Operations and Manufacturing. Don’t worry, you have a team of scientists, Ph.D.’s and engineers at your side.

What would we like you to bring?

Detail orientation, cleanliness, and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering or a related field with at least 3 years of experience in a professional lab setting. Having a fundamental understanding of lab practices, safety and chemistry is required. We will also look for a proven track record of root cause analysis and effective communication. If you have experience with liquid characterization, ISO lab standards & the difference between R&D and production support, these are very highly valued to us.

What else is there for you to know?

Here are our core values:

  1. Chase Waste
  2. Be Outcome Driven
  3. Be an Owner
  4. Look to Serve First
  5. Do the Right Thing
  6. Make Things Simple

This means every person on the team is held to these standards. You deserve to know the type of team you would join, so if this excites you and you don’t mind having a little fun along the way, we would love to hear from you.
