Job Summary:

Hermann Oak is seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing and Project Manager to oversee major equipment purchases and manage various projects including renovations and replacement of aging equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, project management, and manufacturing. The Process Engineer and Reliability Engineer will both report to the Purchasing and Project Manager.


Key Responsibilities:


Purchasing:

- Develop and implement purchasing strategies for major equipment, materials and suppliers.

- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships.

- Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality equipment and materials.

- Monitor market trends and assess the impact on procurement activities.

- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, inventory, and supplier performance.


Project Management:

- Plan, coordinate, and oversee projects including renovations, equipment upgrades, replacements, and preventative maintenance programs.

- Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines.

- Obtain and evaluate bids from contractors and vendors.

- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

- Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues or delays promptly.

- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.


Requirements:

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

- Proven experience in purchasing or project management, preferably both.

- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

- Knowledge of leather tanning processes and equipment is a plus.
