Summary

Slot Supervisors are responsible for the successful operation of the slot floor including verifying jackpot payouts to comply with internal controls and gaming regulations. Slot Supervisors are also responsible for ensuring guests enjoy the best gaming experience possible by maintaining outstanding guest service delivery by Slot Team Members and resolving disputes as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Excellent guest service skills and the ability to use good judgment when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Responsible for direct supervision of slot team members in assigned area.
  • Responsible for maintaining excellent guest service levels in the assigned section at all times by ensuring all slot team members are successfully performing their job duties.
  • Verification and initiation of hand paid jackpots.
  • Assist in completing performance evaluations for slot team members.
  • Recommend and administer progressive management(s) as necessary.
  • Assist the Slot Shift Manager in scheduling of team members for an assigned shift.
  • Maintain an effective daily section schedule for assigned area and recommend/execute changes needed to maintain proper floor coverage.
  • Maintain security of funds and equipment in assigned area/shift.
  • Issue equipment to slot team members.
  • Reports all situations that require attention to the Slot Shift Manager
  • Display good decision-making abilities, motivates slot team members and demonstrates effective supervisory skills.
  • Must adhere to all Soboba Internal Controls and Soboba Casino Resort operational P&P’s.
  • Ensure excellent guest relations are maintained.
  • Interact effectively with all team members and guests exercising tact, diplomacy and patience at all times.
  • Maintain positive interaction with guests and fellow team members on a constant basis.
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to promote positive and professional image.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups Managers/Directors, clients, guests and the general public.
  • Must be physically present to work a regular, reliable, and predictable work schedule in accordance with business demands, and maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties as requested.
  • Walk/stand and work 90% of shift and work in unfavorable conditions which can occasionally be hot and noisy, grasp, bend, reach, kneel, lift and /or carry tools/supplies.
  • At all times, team members are expected to exemplify the values of Commitment, Humility, Integrity, Respect and Passion.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties as requested.

  • Maintain a high level of organization, including an orderly and neat work area and excellent time management skills, leading to the highest levels of productivity.
  • Demonstrate a desire to succeed and willingness to help others succeed.
  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the position and demonstrate proficiency in the position requirements.
  • Demonstrate support and comply with all Safety program elements including: adherence to policies, exercise of safe work practices, participation in training, use of protective equipment, and reporting all safety concerns, hazards, and non-compliant practices.
  • Participate in open communication and provide feedback to management regarding operations, staffing, personal development, and operational productivity.
  • Serve as a contributing Team Member of the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians enhancing SCR’s operations in all its business endeavors.

Education / Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, required.
  • Minimum six (6) months to one (1) year of slot experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Any combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time and walk the casino floor during the assigned shift.
  • Must be able to move at a fast pace within a busy crowd.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.

Certificates, licenses and registration

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
  • Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
