Waiting Room Liaison:

The Waiting Room Ambassador is an integral part of Fourth Street in assisting patients to care offered throughout Fourth Street Clinic. This position is a member of the clinic operations team responsible for assisting with patient management, navigating through the clinic process of registration and services, as well as, waiting room management. The waiting Room Ambassador works closely with registration, triage, and volunteer staff linking patients to care and ensuring the purpose of clinic visit is completed. This job is fast-paced, rewarding, and fun. The position is a great introduction to healthcare and working with underserved populations, with additional opportunities for professional growth.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients in accessing clinic services by providing information, signing them up for waitlists, and answering questions.
  • Monitor the waiting room to maintain a good waiting room environment; and notify staff as necessary when problems arise.
  • Facilitate clinic flow, by monitoring and updating the patient tracking board.
  • Utilize trauma-informed care approaches and supports.
  • Opportunities to work alongside the registration team to assist with the registration processes, as well as participate in other clinic patient-related activities.
  • Assist the triage RN staff with patient communications and the triage process.
  • Participate in activities and training opportunities to enhance job satisfaction as well as performance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Speak Spanish (preferred, but this is not essential.)
  • 2-3 years or more of customer service preferred
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods with or without accommodations
  • Ability to muli-task varying prioritize
  • Ability to work in a busy environment
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and general computer proficiency
  • Experience with or knowledge of electronic medical record systems or any experience in a medical office preferred
