Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Restaurant Host to join our team at South Sioux City Marriott Riverfront. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Reservations and Room Service Orders: Ensure seamless execution of reservations and room service orders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages.
  • Welcome Guests: Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner, setting the tone for a memorable experience.
  • Provide Accurate Wait Times and Monitor Waiting Lists: Effectively manage wait times and waiting lists, ensuring guests are informed and satisfied.
  • Ensure Guests are Seated and Receive Attentive Service: Ensure guests are seated promptly and receive attentive service, meeting their needs and exceeding expectations.
  • Give Guests Menus and Answer Their Questions: Provide guests with menus and answer their questions, offering recommendations and insights to enhance their dining experience.
  • Take Orders while Paying Attention to Details: Take orders accurately and attentively, paying attention to details such as food allergies, preferences, and special requests.
  • Assist in Serving Beverages: Assist in serving beverages, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Receive and Process Payments: Receive and process payments, handling cash and credit card transactions with ease.
  • Keep the Area Clean: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Maintain Stock of Clean Mugs and Plates: Ensure a sufficient supply of clean mugs and plates, maintaining a high level of quality and presentation.
  • Comply with Health and Safety Regulations: Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for guests and staff.
  • Communicate Customer Feedback to Managers: Share customer feedback with managers, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Previous Work Experience: Previous experience as a Host/Barista or Waiter/Waitress is preferred.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on creating a memorable experience.
  • Flexibility to Work Various Shifts: Ability to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
  • Basic Math Skills: Basic math skills, with the ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
  • High School Diploma: High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant training a plus.
