Job Title: Safety Coordinator

Department: Safety

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Safety Director

Job Summary:

As the Nash PM Safety Coordinator, your most important role is to continually drive a company culture of safety. You will oversee the administrative side of safety for Nash Plumbing and Mechanical and provide needed support to all departments seeking safety support.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and administer safety training including but not limited to general safety orientations.
  • Track employee training to ensure companywide compliance.
  • Maintain safety forms, files, and processes including but not limited to vehicle inspections and Safety Data Sheets.
  • Assist in incident investigations, prepare written reports and determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and site inspections.
  • Track incidents and audit corrective actions to closure.
  • Submit, process, and track claims as needed.
  • Provide company-wide communication to further encourage a safety culture.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are devised, followed, and kept up to date.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers and general contractors.
  • Work to achieve leading and lagging performance indicators as directed.
  • Develop and implement OHS policies and programs.
  • Review and update existing policies and procedures to Identify deficiencies and close gaps
  • Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
  • Assist in OSHA record keeping and reporting.
  • Assist in the management of contractor qualification sites (ISNET, etc.).

Job Requirements:

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field of study with 1-3 years’ experience.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of legislations and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
  • 1-3 years of experience in producing reports
  • Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis processes
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Working knowledge of safety management information system
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • BSc/BA in safety management or similar field
  • CHST or OHST preferred
  • OSHA 30 Construction
  • OSHA 500 Preferred

Safety Responsibilities:
