Boston, United States Snyk Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

Every day, the world gets more digital thanks to tens of millions of developers building the future faster than ever. But with exponential growth comes exponential risk, as outnumbered security teams struggle to secure mountains of code. This is where Snyk (pronounced "sneak") comes in. Snyk is a developer security platform that makes it easy for development teams to find, prioritize, and fix security vulnerabilities in code, dependencies, containers, and cloud infrastructure — and do it all right from the start. Snyk is on a mission to make the world a more secure place by empowering developers to develop fast and stay secure.

Joining Snyk means embracing our core values: One Team, Care Deeply, Customer Centric, and Forward Thinking. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to thrive in a dynamic environment where fostering collaboration, leading with empathy, driving business impact, and inspiring trust are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned and highly strategic Vice President, Technical Program Management (TPM) to lead and scale our technical program management organization. In this executive role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing a world-class program management framework that ensures the successful execution of Snyk's Engineering initiatives. Your efforts will ensure these initiatives align with the company's strategic goals, delivered on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have a distinguished track record of building and leading high-performing TPM teams within large, enterprise-grade organizations. You will possess deep expertise in managing complex technical programs at scale, driving both innovation and efficiency. A very strong technical foundation is essential, enabling you to thoroughly understand the technologies employed in our key programs, their objectives, and to assist the Engineering leadership in identifying and mitigating potential challenges, gaps, and pitfalls

You'll Spend Your Time:

  • Spearheading the development and execution of a comprehensive technical program management strategy that aligns seamlessly with the company's overarching business objectives.
  • Partnering with Engineering Division Leadership (Directors, VPs) to define the program vision, roadmap, and operational strategy.
  • Overseeing the entire Engineering project portfolio, ensuring effective prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Driving the implementation and continuous enhancement of program management tools, processes, and best practices.
  • Championing a culture of excellence within the TPM organization, fostering collaboration, communication, and professional development.
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key global stakeholders across Engineering, Product Management, and other departments.
  • Delivering clear and concise program status updates to Senior Management, including the EVP of Engineering and the CEO.
  • Identifying and implementing program management best practices to optimize delivery timelines and budgets.
  • Managing dependencies across complex programs and proactively anticipate potential roadblocks.
  • Mentoring and coaching technical program managers, fostering a high-performing and results-oriented team.
  • Staying up-to-date on industry best practices within technical program management.

What You'll Need:

  • Over 15 years of experience in technical program management, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role (Director or VP).
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, complex technical programs within fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Extensive experience operating within a matrixed organizational structure.
  • Strong expertise in Agile methodologies and adept at working within cross-functional teams.
  • Extensive experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and other frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and its application in large-scale projects
  • Highly technical, with the capability to collaborate with Engineering executives and technical leads to identify and address potential issues.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead at all levels of the organization.
  • Track record of leading and inspiring high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing program management processes and tools.
  • Significant experience in enterprise-grade organizations, with a focus on scaling operations effectively.
