Verdantas is a national consulting group seeking a talented Geotechnical Engineer I to join our team in the Wilmington, DE office.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the investigation and design of building foundations, earthen structures, and roadways
- Collect and help interpret data through research, file reviews, field observations and measurements, field testing, and other methods
- Assist in preparing detailed plans, technical specifications, and reports
- Perform computations and process data using computer software or other established methods
- Perform geotechnical laboratory analysis at our on-campus laboratory
- Observe and document field activities and prepare construction documentation reports
- Assist in preparing cost estimates for design implementation
- Perform site inspections under the supervision of senior engineers
- Demonstrate strong technical writing and communication skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Institution, Master's Degree in Civil Engineering preferred
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience
- CAD experience a plus
- Strong calculation skills
- The ability to interpret work plans
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
