Job Title: Professional Geologist

Fusion HCR is seeking a highly skilled Professional Geologist to join our team as a Project Manager. This role will be responsible for leading geotechnical projects and teams, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and the growth of our company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and execute geotechnical projects, including development, execution, and management of large-scale geotechnical exploration programs.
  • Conduct geo-hazard risk analyses on long, linear corridor-type projects and develop mitigation and design strategies.
  • Oversee the design and development of foundation analyses and design packages, considering multiple foundation support solutions.
  • Interface with project-level and senior leadership personnel within the company and with various internal company Operating Units.
  • Maintain visibility with project stakeholders through regular contact, participation in professional organizations, and attendance at industry events.
  • Manage projects and staff, including technical leadership, risk management, and mentoring of staff.
  • Assist in recruiting and training staff.
  • Review project geotechnical data and search for publicly available data related to the project.
  • Oversight of professional staff responsible for performing geotechnical evaluation and analysis of soil and rock mechanics data.
Requirements:
  • Act as the Engineer or Geologist of Record for specialty foundation types, including helical piles, drilled shafts, micropiles, rock and soil anchors, and driven piles.
  • Develop, execute, and document findings of geotechnical characterization programs throughout North America.
  • Prepare and be responsible for complete project deliverables, including construction drawings, calculations, and specifications.
  • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work and assign tasks to engineering and geologically trained staff.
  • Formulate design options for major foundation projects and coordinate implementation of designs with contractors.
