Position Overview:


We are seeking a motivated individual for the role of Staff/Senior Staff Engineer in our Wilmington, NC office. This position offers an opportunity to engage in meaningful work within a dynamic and flexible environment, fostering personal and professional growth.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in developing both field and analytical skills, alongside a commitment to professional development and teamwork.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate geotechnical and materials testing field operations
  • Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to facilitate geotechnical field activities
  • Document test borings
  • Monitor geotechnical-related construction and conduct materials testing, including soil, concrete, masonry, and asphalt
  • Prepare comprehensive field reports
  • Create basic plans and figures utilizing AutoCAD and GIS
  • Assign and review laboratory tests
  • Perform calculations to support geotechnical design efforts
  • Assist in the preparation of geotechnical reports and proposals

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Completion of geotechnical-focused undergraduate coursework
  • 0-5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Willingness to perform fieldwork and travel, including potential extended assignments
  • Physical capability to lift 60 pounds and navigate construction sites

Preferred Qualifications:
  • EIT certification
  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Prior internship or professional experience in a related field (e.g., geotechnical engineering, construction, civil engineering)
  • Experience in construction materials testing
