The Guatemalan Tomorrow Fund - Executive Director

The Guatemalan Tomorrow Fund (GTF) is a 33-year-old non-profit organization based in Jupiter, Florida that serves as the fundraising arm for Ak' Tenamit (AAT), a grassroots organization located in Rio Dulce, Guatemala. Ak' Tenamit is an on-site non-profit association dedicated to fighting poverty by providing rural appropriate vocational education, rural health care, and income generation programs to the communities it serves.

The Guatemalan Tomorrow Fund (GTF) is a $1million fundraiser seeking to fill the position of Executive Director headquartered in Jupiter, Florida. This 40 hour per week position requires both onsite and remote duties. The Executive Director reports to the GTF Board of Directors and is responsible for operations of the organization in the US.

Duties of the Executive Director:

- Manage, author, and develop fundraising initiatives including existing and potential grants
- Develop e-newsletters and bi-annual print letter
- Research, identify, and contact potential donors
- Manage the Student Sponsorship program in conjunction with the on-site coordinator in Guatemala
- Manage donor database and communications with donors
- Manage social media exposure
- Assist with the organization of groups (Rotary, etc.) to visit Ak' Tenamit
- Supervise and manage financial operations including monthly transfer of funds to Guatemala, monthly office expenditures, oversight of the funds transferred, and providing financial statements to the GTF Board of Directors
- Work with designated CPA to prepare 990 and annual audit, both required by major funders
- Work with the Board of Directors in developing strategic and fundraising goals for the organization, policies and procedures and other governance matters
- Operate as the Ak' Tenamit advocate and fundraiser in the US
- Handle general office duties and administrative tasks

Executive Director Qualifications:

- Excellent communication skills in English and fluency in Spanish preferred
- Two or four-year college graduate preferred
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, and fundraising database
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Self-starter and capacity to work independently
- Non-profit experience required
- Proven track record in financial competency
