Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Director of Cost Management who will act as Senior Cost Manager across a $7 billion rail tunneling program of work. Experience on major rail programs and with CMAR and GMP delivery methods is advantageous. The successful candidate should be available to work in client offices in Baltimore 2-3 days per week.

You will be responsible for developing, managing, and reviewing cost data including budget and cost forecast and providing accurate and timely reporting of cost performance for the program.

Responsibilities shall include:

  • Preparation and review monthly reports for accuracy of cost information.
  • Review and Analysis of variances in cost and schedule and make recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and gather all information for special reports and requests.
  • Reconciliation and edits to the Cost Management System for Budget, Cost and Change Information.
  • Develop and coordinate the cost reporting requirements to assist Project Team with current Budgets, Actuals, Accruals, Forecasts and Changes. 
  • Oversee and review the output documents and reports generated within Program Controls.
  • Coordinating with wider project team and stakeholders for required project level reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of processes and data for tracking.
  • Support the development of Program’s Cost Management processes
  • Performs weekly QA/QC of the project cost data and communicates corrections.
  • Ensures cost data is correctly loaded into the Cost Management System to capture cost reports. 

Experience & Skills Required

  • Demonstrable experience in cost/budget management on large programs
  • At least 10 years experience working in a cost role
  • Experience working with CMAR and GMP arrangements is preferred
  •  
  • Good organization skills with the ability to multi-task.
  •  
  • Demonstrable experience working in multi-disciplined teams with knowledge and understanding of project controls
  • Experience in rail, transportation or tunneling / infrastructure programs preferred
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Ability to effectively manage a team
Qualifications

 

  • Ability to use analytical techniques to provide cost analysis and provide solutions.
  • Research and compile data and maintain accurate and complete project records.
  • Meet deadlines
  • Work and communicate effectively with others using courtesy, respect, and sensitivity.
  • Follow and adhere to company policies. 
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Project Management or Construction-related field
  • Proficiency and knowledge of computer software applications Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Familiar with transportation projects and disciplines.
