Senior Sales Engineer

We are looking for a sharp, friendly, well-spoken sales development representative with a technical engineering background to assist our company in expanding our customer base. As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will combine technical knowledge with strong interpersonal skills to build relationships in the energy, space, and defense industries and work with them to identify solutions to their simulation and software technology needs.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, develop, and deliver technical presentations to explain company’s products and services to customers.
- Discuss needs and requirements with customers to solve problems and facilitate solutions that are good for both the customer and the company.
- Identify new high-quality sales leads, follow-up after initial contact, secure and renew orders and complete sales.
- Maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers for after-sales support.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage solutions through the proposal process by collecting customer requirements, driving proposal strategy, coordinating activities of subject matter experts and product managers, writing proposal sections, and supporting cost activities.
- Interface with research and development engineers to develop and modify products to meet customer technical requirements and needs.
- Collect and evaluate data to create new sales and marketing strategies.
- Set and achieve sales goals for new and existing customers.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s technical products and services.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage applicable business development budgets, policies, and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field with experience in the field of technology sales
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to create presentations and to deliver information clearly, confidently, and succinctly.
- Ability to effectively communicate highly technical concepts and specifics in a relatable, engaging, and easy-to-understand way.
- Ability to listen to customer needs and understand subtle customer problems from a solution-oriented perspective.
- Capacity to absorb advanced technical knowledge and use that knowledge to solve customer problems.
- Demonstrated interest in ongoing technical and sales personal development as well as maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in technology.
- Excellent management, communication, sales, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Capacity for strategic thinking, planning, and decision-making.
Desired:
- Technical and sales experience in agriculture, energy, construction, space, or defense industries.
- Experience in advanced software, simulation, and/or immersive (XR) technologies.
Citizenship or lawful permanent residency required.
