The Position
RCL Mechanical, Inc. is looking for an experienced construction service industry Controller or bookkeeper. This position requires individuals to multi-task, be highly organized and detail oriented, and be able to work on a team. Candidates should have strong verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to stay focused at the task at hand. The candidate must posses strong Microsoft operating systems capabilities (strong ability in excel), QuickBooks Online experience, effective communication skills, a solution orientated attitude and ability to work collectively with other team members. This role is essential to the production of timely and accurate financial reporting and will be responsible for monthly reconciliation of accounts within the accounting software, as well as an aid in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Responsibilities
- Handle routine accounting tasks to ensure the smooth operation of financial processes.
- Manage daily cash deposits to maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare and send out weekly invoices and statements to clients and customers in a timely manner.
- Verify and reconcile vendor, bank and credit card statements to ensure accurate accounts payable records.
- Assist in generating purchase orders and tracking procurement activities.
- Maintain organized vendor records and documentation for easy reference.
- Assist in annual 1099 filings.
- A/R follow-ups on a weekly basis with status updates to management.
- Accurately process and record incoming invoices for payment.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements to maintain accurate cash balances.
- Process employee payroll using QuickBooks Online, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payroll regulations.
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required by regulations.
- Perform journal entries weekly to assist with running divisional financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor and report on the company's financial performance.
Requirements
- 5 years bookkeeping experience
- 3 years in construction or service trade industry
- 3 years using Timberline/Sage (preferable)
- Experience using Service Titan (preferable)
- Experience using QuickBooks Online (REQUIRED)
- Microsoft Office
- Strong efficiency and comfort level with Microsoft Excel (REQUIRED)
