Network Engineer

C Squared Systems, LLC is an RF engineering, consulting, and software development company specializing in providing services for seamless wireless coverage from RF analysis to design and implementation of DAS systems and Wi-Fi networks to remote monitoring and management of complex multi-vendor environments. Site Portal®, a customizable Web-based software, was engineered by C Squared Systems to remotely monitor and manage these complex multi-vendor environments.

Since 1999, C Squared Systems has executed turnkey in-building wireless solutions using state-of-the art analysis tools to deliver RF solutions that exceed project scope and customer expectations. Our experience, technical expertise, and diverse projects in the wireless realm have allowed C Squared Systems to continually evolve as new technologies are developed and the demands of our customers change.

Role

In the Network Engineer role, you will be the lead network resource for C Squared Systems, LLC. This role will be approximately 30% Pre/Post Sales support for external customers and 70% support for internal teams and infrastructure.

The skillset we’re looking for will include:

Intimate knowledge of HTTP/S, SNMP, NTP, DNS and SSH protocols

Experience with BGP and other dynamic routing protocols

Experience with SD-WAN management

Experience firewall management, preferably FortiGate

Setup and maintenance of IPSEC VPNs

VLANs, spanning tree

Experience provisioning cellular modems, preferably with via centralized management.

Experience with log aggregation

To work in this fast-paced environment, you’ll need superb technical competency, extensive multitasking capabilities and solid project leadership skills. The ability to work with little supervision, provide status updates, and manage daily tasks within a team are key. Finally, you’ll need a fertile imagination to come up with creative approaches to the new challenges we face each day.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for internal network infrastructure
  • Architect, install, configure, test and maintain network operating systems and management tools
  • Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Work with development team to improve product performance
  • Maintain reliable connectivity to ensure the smooth operation of security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Primary point of contact for all escalated network issues
  • Provide 2nd, and 3rd level support
  • Liaise with vendors, coworkers, and customers for problem resolution

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject, 8 years experience providing high level support and engineering (at least 2 contiguous years within the same organization showing progression of roles and responsibilities), or a combination of education and experience.
  • IT certifications in network related fields (CCNA Highly desired)
  • Lengthy track record of developing and implementing IT strategy
  • Extensive Cloud networking experience, preferably in Azure
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization
  • Experience with system monitoring and log aggregation
  • Experience with automation software (e.g., Puppet, cfengine, Chef, Ansible) is a plus
  • Solid scripting skills
