RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for maintaining a corporate quality assurance system that promotes customer satisfaction and that positively impacts financial performance.
  • Champion continuous improvements efforts and defect reduction initiatives to establish an effective Quality Management System (QMS); initiate and implement quality improvement activities as appropriate to raise the performance of the company's product lines. Educate and train employees as to their impact in the quality management system.
  • Manage quality control personnel on a day-to-day basis.
  • Design, implement, and document procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain metrics (process capability, control charts, measurements quality) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements using 8D's, A3's and FMEA's.
  • Conducted or participated in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Develop process certification standards and assist in process certification.
  • Review customer purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.
  • Basic understanding of running a CMM or Faro Arm and interpretation of GD&T.
  • Launch Kaizen events for Continuous Improvements.
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
  • Maintain required documentation of quality control processes.
  • Maintain revision levels of quality control process documentation.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university; and five plus years experience working in a metal fabrication job shop.
  • 3+ years of Quality leadership experience managing others.
  • AS9100 / ISO 9001:2015 a must
  • Lean Six Sigma and Quality Certified highly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of IATF 16949 to include APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control plans, PPAP and standardized work.
  • Knowledge in welding steel product in accordance with ANSI/AWS standard – D1.1
