About the Role
As a Quality Assurance Specialist at Amsted Automotive Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards are met in our manufacturing processes. Our company is a leading technology organization specializing in complex metalworking and high-tech machining equipment and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize production efficiency
- Participate in the Elimination of Waste Team meetings to identify areas for improvement
- Support the Company's Goals and Objectives by ensuring quality standards are met
- Perform receiving, in-process, and final audit inspections as directed
- Record attribute and variable data on in-process inspection records according to parts-specific dynamic control plans
- Verify that procedures are being followed and inspections performed by operators
- Support the team efforts of setting up and operating stamping presses as related to inspection tools
- Perform final audit inspections, including tagging parts and dunnage properly for storage or shipment
- Notify press and/or production if non-conforming material is detected, and assist in identifying and isolating suspect material
- Communicate findings regarding trends or non-conforming parts or processes to appropriate personnel and participate in corrective action processes
- Perform First-piece and in-process inspections and log in-process inspection records, including contamination testing as applicable
- Perform Last-Off inspections, including providing part data to assist in tooling repairs on Last-Off reports
- Generate reports of non-conforming material or product
- Identify non-conforming material and quarantine
- Assist in root cause analysis and problem-solving tasks as assigned
- Assist in Gage R&R's and Part Capability Studies as assigned
- Identify trends using basic statistical process control techniques
- Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Management
Requirements
- Proficient use of measuring equipment, checking fixtures, and metrology tools
- Computer literacy and working knowledge of workplace machinery, such as SAP handheld scanners, calculators, and printers
- Ability to read blueprints as appropriate
- Working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 Compliance Criteria
- Manual dexterity sufficient to use designated tools and equipment, with the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
- Work is performed in a manufacturing office environment with continuous exposure to noise
- Ability to work necessary overtime if required
