We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to oversee and enhance our inventory tracking practices. This role is crucial in managing and safeguarding physical inventories of raw materials, finished products, intermediates, and packaging. The successful candidate will ensure smooth production flow by adhering to local procedures, policies, and instructions. Proficiency in computer operations, ERP systems, and forklift operation is required, with SAP experience being essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the supply of raw materials, intermediates, and packaging according to production orders, ensuring that requirements are met across all areas.
- Oversee the receipt of containers and raw materials, applying safety-compliant procedures for proper handling.
- Ensure the accurate receipt and physical review of finished products for safekeeping and delivery according to the production schedule.
- Manage the storage of materials in designated waste areas following legal and SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) protocols.
- Coordinate the supply of raw material samples, intermediates, and packaging for R&D and Applications needs.
- Record daily cycle counts, confirm shipments, and oversee transfers between warehouses to maintain up-to-date system information.
- Collaborate with managers to ensure that personnel are adequately trained in processes affecting inventory accuracy.
- Supervise the daily operations of the warehouse team, ensuring compliance with SHE regulations.
- Perform any additional duties related to the position and business needs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in forklift operation.
- Proficiency in computer use, with strong experience in ERP systems; SAP experience is required.
- Ability to perform basic math and maintain legible records.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity required for handling equipment and materials.
- Must frequently lift and/or move barrels of coating.
