This person will assist our team of Project Managers in leading the successful execution of a variety of construction projects from start to finish.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent time-management and problem-solving abilities who thrives in fast-paced environments. We want someone who is a team player looking to grow and excel into a team leader / Project Manager position.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting the Project Managers with maintaining the profitability and on-time Completion of the entire construction project(s) being performed. Assist in executing projects within the intended scope, timeframe and funds.
  • Be an onsite representative for the Project Managers while meeting with Subcontractors, inspectors, architects, and or designers. Some Client interaction maybe required. Assist the Project managers throughout the project lifecycle to understand/set expectations, establish timelines and grow the relationship.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors and subcontractors to identify and allocate the necessary resources for each project under Project Managers direction.
  • Reports to Project Manager, President/CEO and/Or Chief Operating Officer/C.O.O. Weekly if not Daily via direct communication such as text, in-person or email communications as well as using Software "Mondays" to report meeting minutes per job. 


Key Performance Criteria:

Assisting in the successful completion of project(s) resulting in achievement of projected fee. Development and maintenance of good client and supplier relationships. Development of accurate and well-documented audit trail through Daily Logs as recorded in Monday App / CMIS and maintenance of Meeting Minutes of all onsite meeting between PCC and Client or Architect or Engineer or City Inspectors which will aid the company in the event of future legal liability. Quality of team work and Competence and morale of Support Staff. Adherence to the intent of PCC company policies and procedures and to the instructions of supervisor.

Assistant Project Manager Responsibilities:

a. Once the project has been awarded, under Project Managers direction and Overview issue contracts and “buys-out” the project.

b. Under Project Managers direction coordinate work with architect and engineers.

c. Under Project Managers direction and Overview maintain job site supervision, proper project records and documents. Maintains the job site security and assigns lock-up as noted in daily log.

d. Assist Project Manager will visit site daily and update the "Mondays" log with daily activity, communications, ordering, and subcontracts issued under Project Managers direction and Overview

e. Under Project Managers direction and Overview Cost code and approve invoices from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.

f. Work as a team with Project Superintendent, Project Engineer, and Administrator and assist as needed.

h. Under Project Managers direction and Overview  maintain required documentation with client, architect and subcontractors. Ensure contract has been properly executed.

i. Under Project Managers direction and Overview Monitor changes, document and submit cost to owner. Prepare change orders.

j. Perform periodic review of job safety with Superintendent.

k. Review schedule and monitor progress to keep project on schedule.

l. Work closely with Project Administrator to fulfill all paperwork and documentation requirements.

n. Supervise project support staff, including Project Engineer and Project Administrator.

p. Advises Project Manager,  President and VP of Operations of any adverse changes to projects and / or difficult subcontractor relations.

q. Supports the Superintendent in correcting, and inspects job site for, unsafe conditions.

r. All work to be billed on an hourly basis and not to exceed the contract allowance without written approval. No vested interest in unused Hours

PCC heavily documents all paper work in CMIS a construction management system and uses email for almost all communication as well as task management software. Candidate must have fluent knowledge of a computer and smart phone. Candidates must be able to write professional emails with proper grammar and spelling. 

Requirements:

  • 1-2 Years working as and assistant project manager and / or 5+ years in construction site super intendant position OR Construction Management Bachelors Degree
  • 2 years minimum of experience in Construction Labor
  • Ability to Read Plans
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Advanced skillset in time management and task prioritization
  • Passion for managing teams and driving results
  • Ability to multitask and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Clean driving record
  • willing to work overtime - Normal Business hours are 7am - 4pm M-F, however early starts or late meetings may be required.
  • willing to Commute - Most of our jobs are located in the Venice Beach, Beverly Hills, and Palisades area but chage regularly and can range from Long Beach to Ventura. Main Office is located in Gardena,CA
