Job DescriptionJob Description

Summary: Assist with the analysis of energy utilization and sustainability as it applies to existing buildings as well as the design of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) for new and building renovation projects. Utilize energy modelling software, Autodesk REVIT and AutoCAD in the production of 3D models and drawing plans associated with the design of mechanical and HVAC systems.

What you do:

  • Works with senior team members to evaluate existing buildings and facilities for energy efficiency and economic driven analysis of facility improvement opportunities.
  • Makes site visits with senior team members to document existing systems and gather existing owner documentation.
  • Research of applicable Codes and Standards as well as energy efficiency incentive opportunities.
  • Works with senior team members on conceptual designs, energy calculations, equipment selections, and preparation of design drawings and specifications.
  • Assists during the project construction phase with submittal reviews and making site visits.
  • Interacts with architects, electrical engineers, and structural engineers.
  • Uses computer-assisted design software, design models, and computer graphics to create preliminary and detailed drawings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD is highly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Interest in sustainability and energy.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Successful completion of first year coursework towards a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology program.
