Job Summary: Admissions Counselor

Life University is looking for a dynamic and compassionate individual to serve as Admissions Counselor, to recruit for our Eastern region. The Admissions Counselor role is to recruit, connect, engage and enroll prospective students into Life University. They are involved in all aspects of recruitment, admissions, enrollment, and counseling prospective students. This role is critical in ensuring that prospective students have detailed information about their application status and aid them in developing the needed action steps to apply, earn admission, enroll, and matriculate into Life University. Life University has developed and implemented an Honor Code and Standards of Conduct, which serve as a set of expectations for the living and learning environment provided by the University.

Responsibilities

  • Promote, and support the University’s vision, mission, philosophies, and academic programs, as well as application, admission, pre-enrollment, and student service aspects.
  • Proactively and collaboratively work to assist, guide, and counsel large volumes of individual prospective students in registering for recruitment events and/or tours, submitting and completing their application, understanding admission guidelines and criteria, gaining admission, earning applicable transfer credit, and moving through pre-enrollment and enrollment phases as smoothly and swiftly as possible.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to meet enrollment goals, with focused efforts on exemplary customer service, use of technology/systems, teamwork, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Attract prospective students and applicants by developing and implementing internal and external recruitment strategies, identifies applicant sources and develops attraction tools.
  • Understand and use the student information system and other software/databases, according to applicable practices and guidelines shared in training and documentation.
  • Prepare and deliver effective and professional presentations for all programs, and more.
  • Represent Life University and the Office of Enrollment to a broad range of constituents at various recruitment functions and programs, such as campus tours, visits and events, conferences, conventions, and meetings, on and off campus ~ in metro Atlanta, throughout Georgia, and across and outside the United States.
  • Create and monitor reports related to assigned recruitment, counseling, enrollment functions in various computer systems, with the guidance, request, and support of leadership.
  • Participate in the planning, coordination, implementation, and assessment of recruitment functions and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of customer service experience.
  • Must be able to work some weekends and evenings.
  • Must be able to travel approximately 70% - 90% of the time, primarily independently and using various modes of transportation.
