IT Project Manager - Network Infrastructure Engineering
Location: Central NJ
Position Summary:
The Spear Group has an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT Network Infrastructure Project Manager to support our top tier biopharma client in NJ acting as the owner’s rep and liaison with the existing service provider / vendor. The ideal candidate will lead and help deliver the overall project objective to design and install redundant network fiber links to all buildings on client company campus to improve network reliability and resilience. All selected client company campus buildings will have redundant fiber network links to both the local computer rooms (LCRs) core network switches to provide physical and logical network redundancy. Ensure building fibers links are connected to both LCR core switches. The IT PM must have an IT Engineering or computer science background to oversee and lead the work of the selected proven service provider, EPCM. Project Management experience is required, and Pharma / BioPharma experience is a plus. The client company project methodology will be used as a roadmap process guide with project deliverables from initiation phase through project closeout/turnover to operations. The PM in this role working with the EPCM is accountable to the client for the overall project success in Quality, Budget, Cost, Schedule, Scope, and Operational Turnover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, own, and report the overall project performance for the owner. Foster support of SMEs from the contracted EPCM, existing subcontracted Network Operational Team Support, and Pharma SMEs as needed.
- Function as the Owner’s Project Site Lead for the Network Project
- Requires excellent Microsoft Office skills and ability to provide appropriate reporting to all levels of project stakeholders.
- Possess the ability, skills, and experience to complete detailed project schedules and facilitate project team meetings.
- PowerPoint presentations and meeting agendas and provide meeting notes. OneNote Microsoft tool for meeting notes is a plus.
- Be a driver for reliability and continuous improvement of new and existing site Network Infrastructure. This project needs to operate without interrupting the site’s current campus network communications.
- Lead and coordinate the owner’s standards with SME’s and EPCM vendor.
- Collaborate with IT Network Engineers, Architects, and Procurement to manage report costs.
- Review and approve project change notices (PCNs)
- Cover weekend rotation for all active projects approximately one weekend per quarter.
- Complete owner’s pharma required training, mostly on-line.
- Must consider safety first as the most important requirement of all work.
- Lead or participate in project technical discussions and EPCM vendor negotiation with owner’s procurement.
- In collaboration with IT Business Partners, IT Network Operations, Owner SME, and EPCM provider / vendor, monitor and improve for stakeholder / owner to ensure strong support of Project Deliverables and turnover to Operations.
- Advance organizational and technological capabilities
- Develop solutions to sophisticated problems requiring the regular use of resourcefulness and innovation
Qualifications / Requirements:
- bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or other related IT degree. PMP Certification or an equivalent field experience.
- A minimum of 10 years systems/networking engineering/IT experience involved in the design, implementation, and/or support of IT Operations.
- Experience in a regulated (Pharmaceutical) industry is a plus.
- Experience with Operating Systems, Virtualization, LAN/WAN, Firewalls, SQL Servers client-server and terminal virtualization as a System Administrator is a plus.
- Experience with networking, monitoring, and support.
- Certifications in these areas is an advantage: PMP, Network Protocols, ITIL Certifications, Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Specialist certification, Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP).
