We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to add to our growing internal accounting team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing and recording journal entries, account reconciliations and detailed reports. Join a dynamic team that will also assist with month end close, budgeting process and special projects. Internal growth potential and great company culture A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business or at least five years of experience in public accounting is required.

 

Staff Accountant Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in the budgeting process by providing financial data and analysis
  • Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Assist in the budgeting process by providing financial data and analysis
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Assist in the financial management of the organization by monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen and understanding of accounting principles
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections
  • Conduct reconciliation of all accounts as needed.
  • Maintain and balance the general ledger.
  • Act as a backup for the Accounts Payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments.
  • Act as a backup for the Accounts Receivable function including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition.

 

Staff Accountant Requirements 


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or at least five years of accounting experience required.
  • At least five years of experience working with bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, journal entry adjustments, financial statements preparation, and general ledgers.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP tax and cash financial statements.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, Word, and other applications related to finance and accounting.
  • Must possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to work in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
