The Facilities Manager, also known as the Environmental Services Manager, oversees and directs the entire physical plant, environmental maintenance, and cleanliness of both the internal community building and the external grounds. This role is responsible for the community's appearance, upkeep, sanitation, and safety, guaranteeing that all preventive and corrective maintenance and cleaning tasks are executed to promote the health, safety, comfort, and well-being of all residents, guests, and team members, in compliance with the relevant state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct the environmental services and housekeeping teams. Recruit, train, mentor, and inspire the maintenance and housekeeping staff to maintain high service standards. Conduct hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as necessary. Engage in budgetary discussions for the environmental services department. Collaborate with corporate maintenance and vendors to address community needs. Assess the property and buildings, prioritize projects, propose capital enhancements, and assess the value added by improvements. Guide the maintenance and housekeeping staff to take responsibility for the condition of the building and grounds, ensuring all areas are visually appealing, odor-free, clean, and well-maintained.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance field, preferably in the hospitality industry or a senior living community
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required
  • Technical college or 4-year degree preferred but not required
  • Experience leading and managing the environmental services and housekeeping team
  • Ability to complete community maintenance request (plumbing issues, minor electrical issues, changing light bulbs and ballast)
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Attend and participate in regular budget discussions for the environmental services division
  • Ability to effectively prioritize projects, recommend capital improvements and evaluate improvements for value add
