Team Lead – Edge String

Job Description

Summary/objective

The responsibility of the Edge String Team Lead is to communicate to the team safety, quality, and production requirements. They are responsible for keeping the team on task and ensuring associates cycling the line at the identified times. They are to help eliminate bottlenecks within the assembly line cycling process. They will communicate all issues with quality, cycling, and personnel to the supervisor and/or manager. The Lead will work with the supervisor to ensure daily task, priorities and production goals are met. The Lead will work with other leads to ensure parts are being delivered to their assembly line an efficient manner that eliminates missed cycle times. The Lead will also ensure late parts are identified and made priority by their supplier.

Essential Functions

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the

  • Communicate any staffing needs to supervisor/manager.
  • Ensure everyone is working safely and wearing proper PPE for their job.
  • Ensure associates are adhering to break schedule.
  • Ensure the shift begins promptly and shift turnovers are clear and concise.
  • Maintain workflow by ensure associates are completing task in allotted time.
  • Communicate disciplinary issues, callouts, quality defects, and workflow inefficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure associates have what they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Ensure employees understand their job responsibilities.
  • Work to improve line efficiency through suggestions and implementations.
  • Ensure housekeeping is done= Clean work areas.
  • Train new associates and monitor their success.
  • Work with 1st shift Team Lead and Supervisor to ensure an effective shift change.
  • Ensure late parts are staged and painted for the following shift.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to comply with safety guidelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Keen eye for details

Work environment

  • Maintains production flow, efficiencies and quality of machine build
  • Positive team-based attitude and a willingness to cross train different line positions
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds without assistance and Lift, push, and pull 51 to over 100 pounds with assistance
  • Walk, talk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and work around fumes or airborne particles

Physical Demands

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Travel required

No travel is required.

Required education and experience

  • High School diploma; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum 1-2 years of CNC experience
  • Forklift experience required
  • Ability to lift and move 75 lbs. or more
  • One or more years of Press brake and laser experience

2:30pm- 11:00pm, M-R, and Friday & Saturday if OT is required.
