A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

As an Accounting Specialist, you have the important role of processing and controlling expenses for a multi-company, multi-branch organization. Accuracy and organization in your day to day tasks will be crucial in this position.

In Accounts Payable you will be responsible for receiving approvals, reviewing invoices for accuracy, coding, and entering invoices for multiple locations. You will be required to communicate with vendors as needed. You will process payments and maintain digital files for all vendors.

In Payroll you will be responsible for understanding all policies related to payroll, reviewing and entering employee information and changes; maintaining employee digital files; updating and reconciling benefit deductions; calculating and processing payroll for multiple locations, pay types, and pay scales. You will also be responsible for processing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reports.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

  • High school diploma OR equivalent
  • 1-3 years of general accounting experience

  • 1-3 years of experience working with payroll and accounts payable

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred

  • Quickbooks experience preferred
