Studco Building Systems is looking for a Accounting Associate to join its Finance department
The Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting the Finance and Admin team with daily tasks and other projects as requested. This role requires strong excel and analytical skills for reporting purposes, attention to detail and organization as well as a customer centric approach and attitude working with internal and external stakeholders. The role will learn the overall office functions, support AR/AP functions for various regions within the global organization and support the finance team as a whole.
General Duties
Main Activities:
- Maintain customer records in ERP, ensuring accuracy and consistency of customer database
- Manage accounts receivable, ensuring customers pay in a timely manner by using consistent follow up and high-level organization
- Process daily customer invoices, credit memos and payments
- Provide support of A/P role as needed
- Extensive use of Excel to produce reports and analyse data for daily/weekly/monthly reporting to stake holders.
- Assist with the monthly closing process as directed by the Controller.
- Learn and assist with monthly reconciliations as requested.
- Understand and maintain confidentiality relating to all business activities, especially relating to financial details and customer/ supplier details
- Understand and maintain correct protocols when interacting with staff, customers and suppliers.
Teamwork and Leadership Responsibilities
Main Activities and Performance standards:
- Work as a team. Call out for additional assistance immediately when a question comes up that you are not highly competent in responding to.
- Manage time in an effective manner, Confidentiality is paramount. Any breach of trust will be regarded seriously & addressed in an appropriate manner by senior management. Anyone involved in the Studco Team is required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Preferred knowledge:
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
- Minimum Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- Prior experience with AP/AR
- Working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS (preferred)
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices a plus
