A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN AQUATICS DIRECTOR


As an Aquatics Director, you organize and run summer and offseason swimming lessons. You are responsible for scheduling swim instructors for group lessons as well as private lessons and, when necessary, you teach swimming lessons. You develop and maintain pool schedules with various aquatic programs including swim teams and events.


Our aquatic staff depends on you to conduct training, manage their daily duties, and complete payroll for the department. The aquatic space and pools are always safe and clean due to your dedication to ensure our members' safety. At times you work with your hands on maintenance and maintaining the pool operations. You enjoy interacting with a variety of people throughout your shift and feel good about the part you play in keeping our members coming through our doors.


QUALIFICATIONS


* Lifeguard/AED/CPR Certified
* CPO Certification (Certified Pool Operator)
* Knowledge of aquatics and swimming strokes


USA Swim Certification is preferred, but not required. A college degree is a plus Do you have great leadership skills? RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize and run summer and offseason swim lessons

  • Schedule swim instructors for group lessons as well as private lessons

  • Develop and maintain pool schedules with various aquatic programs

  • Maintain leased space

  • Conducts aquatic staff trainings and inservices

  • Teaches both group and private lessons when needed

  • Develops/ organizes/ and runs events (registration sign-ups, swim meets, etc.)

  • Manages aquatic staff and their daily duties

  • Payroll for aquatics department

  • Setup and maintain SUP clinics

  • Works with the health department and staying up to date with regulations

  • Maintains a safe, clean, and professional aquatic space and pools

  • Works hands on with maintenance and maintaining the pool operations

  • Budget and develop aquatics costs and payments
