Part of the broader Communications team, this person will support media operations for TGL and will participate in the overall creative process to accomplish TGL communications and marketing goals.


This role is unique because this person will be in front of high-level personalities and media members and will be tasked with ensuring their experience is best in class. This person must also be trusted to approach TGL athletes after matches to help coordinate their media obligations and to retrieve quotes to be used in media transcripts.

This is a temporary role that begins in August 2024 and will last through the completion of the TGL season, ending on or around April 2024.



Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing all written materials, including press releases, while also pitching stories and creating media placements based on overall company objectives
  • Build and nurture relationships with key national, regional and local media
  • Oversee various approvals of league content, photography and video in order to maintain TGL’s media website
  • Organize and share PR schedule and announcement calendar and duties with internal stakeholders to maintain communication and integration throughout the organization
  • Assist in overall media operations, credentialing and hosting during TGL Matches at SoFi Center, also serving as conduit between media and TGL teams and athletes at matches
  • Manage internal Cision distribution system, creating list of media contracts and distribution templates while also building custom contact lists based on announcement type, focus and geographical location
  • Support Media Value and Metrics Monitoring Process by monitoring and reporting on key announcements for league, team, players and partners
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of TGL’s media website for Media Credentials, Media Regulations and Statistical development and updates, creating and managing end of match statistics
  • Communicate and track announcement timelines, media pitches and status of each pitch, tracking edits and updates to ancillary content, graphics and other elements for each announcement, player requests and outreach.
  • Serve as operational support for all announcements and media events including media days, player media tours, team media moments and more, partnering with Live Events team on all event needs (i.e. A/V, signage, backdrops, parking, gifting, seating, etc.)
  • Partner with Live Events team to ensure onsite media experience is best-in-class including the setup of media center, interview room, parking areas and more
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in PR, Communications and/or Marketing
  • Bachelor’s Degree in PR, Communications, Marketing or equivalent field
  • Sports PR or marketing experience required
  • Previous experience in event-focused PR or marketing operations, preferably within a sports team/brand/league/agency or media organization
  • Experience in golf (professional or recreational) strongly preferred
  • Detail-orientation with the ability to quickly assimilate, organize and apply new concepts, to assist with interdepartmental efficiency
  • Professionalism in working with journalists, influencers, broadcast partners, professional athletes and support staff
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong ability to foster and flourish within a team culture working with others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint and other internet/web platforms
  • Ability to travel as dictated by client needs and to work long hours and weekend days as needed


Location

This role is either based at our headquarters in Winter Park, FL or in Palm Beach, FL. This person will need to be available to attend all TGL matches in Palm Beach while also working in the Winter Park office as needed.
