Father Judge High School is looking for a Full-Time Director of the Crusader Program. Father Judge encourages and empowers the uniqueness of its young men to be active and engaged learners and provides an educational experience focused on faith and service. Father Judge High School respects the diversity of each student and provides a climate of academic excellence and college preparation within a safe environment. Rooted in the spirituality of our patron Saint Francis de Sales, Father Judge High School educates the whole young man spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially in the Catholic tradition.

The Father Judge Crusader Program was designed to help students with learning disabilities and/or academic struggles transition into high school while having support available to assist their academic needs. The program is designed to allow students to transition out with the goal that most students will not require the support of the program by their senior year. The program serves approximately forty (40) freshmen (2 classes of 20), twenty (20) sophomores, ten (10) juniors, and five seniors.

The program is housed in our newly renovated Brisson Center for Academic Excellence and has the most up to date educational technology available. The program focuses on identifying areas of improvement needed and supplementing the classroom teacher’s instruction to increase overall academic levels in math and reading as well as overall academic success in core courses. The chosen candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the program from pre-entrance paperwork and interviews until graduation of the students within the program as well as the development of a 4-year, fluid, curriculum designed to enhance the core instructional program within the school.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree Required, preferably in Education.
  • Five (5) years teaching experience preferred.
  • Special Education Certification preferred.
  • Experience with Special Education Report generation and review preferred.
  • Goggle Suite use preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Use the current redesigned 9th grade curriculum to develop and Implement a fluid curriculum, by grade level, for students with Special Education Needs in grades 10-12. This curriculum should encompass the use of the entire center, including all technology and educational apps and be approved by the Supervisor of the Brisson Center for Academic Excellence.
  • In conjunction with the CORA and Catapult Support staff, provide instruction to all crusader period classes using the designed 4-year curriculum and assigning tasks to all support staff in the class.
  • Responsible for the reporting/recording of grades, developing of tests/quizzes, designing of homework/classwork, assisting in the completion of STEM projects, and grading off all the above.
  • Responsible for parental contact and parental involvement in student’s education.
  • Develop and maintain student portfolios within the program.
  • Monitor student’s progress within the program, monitor student’s academic success both inside and outside the program, determine placement for the upcoming school year, & monitor students for the completion of their contracts, specifically the 9th grade students.
  • Develop and implement a code of conduct for the classroom that will enhance the instruction, this instruction should be designed with differentiation and the Universal Design of Learning Principals at its core.
  • Meet as needed with the school psychologists about students within your program that need his services or discuss students outside the program that may require the services next academic year.
  • Attendance to after school events to represent the program may be required, including the development of a presentation to provide potential parents and students an overview of the program.
  • Submission of monthly reports to the Supervisor of the Brisson Center for Academic Excellence on the current state of the program including board reports as needed or requested by the administration.
  • Other duties as requested and outlined by the Supervisor of the Brission Center and the Principal.

Compensation Requirements:

  • Compensation and benefits packages are provided; exact compensation will vary based on experience and education in alignment with the Labor Management Agreement.

Pennsylvania clearances required - explanation of clearances will be provided.
