Dominion Financial Services (DFS) is a mortgage originator for single family real estate. DFS originates two main loan products – a short-term bridge loan for fix & flip investors, and a long-term rental loan for landlords growing their rental portfolios. DFS is thriving in the current competitive environment and shows aggressive quarterly growth. Our current origination volume is $70MM per month. DFS is looking for a detail-oriented SVP of Mortgage Operation and Technology to join our growing team.

As the Senior Vice President of Mortgage Operations and Technology, you will play a pivotal role in creating, overseeing, and enhancing our mortgage operations and technology infrastructure. Reporting directly to the President, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment of our mortgage operations with our business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge, a strong technology background, and exceptional leadership skills

In This Role You Will
  • Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the mortgage operations team, ensuring operational excellence, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Technology Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that supports business growth, enhances operational efficiency, and improves customer experience. This includes overseeing the implementation and integration of mortgage technology platforms, such as loan origination systems (LOS), document management systems, and automation tools.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize mortgage processes to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve turnaround times using technology-driven solutions.
  • Risk Management: Implement and maintain effective risk management practices related to technology systems and processes, ensuring cybersecurity and data privacy measures are robust and compliant.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with key technology vendors and service providers to ensure quality service delivery, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing team of technology professionals and mortgage operations staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other senior leaders across the organization to align mortgage operations with broader business strategies and initiatives, particularly those involving technology and digital transformation.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to both mortgage operations and technology initiatives to measure success and drive continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mortgage operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading mortgage operations and technology initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of mortgage lending regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Strong technological acumen with experience in implementing and managing mortgage technology platforms (LOS, document management systems, etc.).
  • Experience with digital mortgage processes, including automation and customer self-service portals.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive decision-making and process improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate industry trends and translate them into actionable technology strategies.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
