Shift: Night Shift
Position: Full time or PRN
Summary: Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of nursing. The primary commitment is to the patient, so an important responsibility includes following through with tasks and following up on communication with the nursing and RT staff to help provide optimal patient care.
Patient Care Tech (PCT)/CNA Responsibilities:
Perform basic care skills under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse including vital signs, intake/output measurement, catheter care, CPR, restraint management, bowel and bladder training, and documentation of care in the patient record.
Responsible for assisting the licensed nurse in meeting the patients' needs in the areas of personal hygiene, personal care, skin care, grooming, rest, activity, nourishment, body mechanics, elimination, and psychosocial support.
Provide adequate, safe care, maintain knowledge about each patient assigned and participate in reports with nursing and other techs. Requires attention to detail related to patient care restrictions and special instructions or issues (diet instructions, fall risk etc.).
Patient Care Tech (PCT)/CNA Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
- 1-3 years of related experience, preferably in a hospital setting, EMT/Paramedic experience
- 2 weekend monthly requirement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be organized, a team player and detail-oriented
- Good computer and math skills
- BLS/CPR certification preferred (classes available)
- Focus: Our facility has 30 beds, which allows our healthcare teams to focus intensely on our patients and their families.
- Multi-Disciplinary Interaction: We take pride in our collaborative, multi-disciplinary team approach to care, that helps us deliver exceptional healthcare outcomes for our patients in a positive and supportive work environment. Patient Care Tech's play an important and respected role with the medical staff.
- Growth and Skills Leverage: Use and grow your skills - our units are entirely focused on critical care to meet the needs of our medically complex patients. We have a new training system (MedTrainer) to support your training goals too
- Patient Centered: Our Long-Term Acute Care patients stay with us an average of 25 - 30 days, which allows the clinical team to get to know the patient as a person
- Multi-Facility System Support: As part of a multi-hospital system, our team benefits from sharing best practices and standards that can drive better patient outcomes.
