We are seeking a Controller to support Alloy Engineering and Mach3 business in our Berea, OH location. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting operations, ensuring adherence to accounting principles, practices, and procedures. This role involves directing and planning the maintenance of fiscal records and preparing financial reports that effectively summarize and forecast the company's business activity and financial position, encompassing income, expenses, and earnings derived from past, present, and projected operations.


Oversees determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets. Establishes or recommends major economic objectives and policies for company to management.


Provides ESOP support and reporting and analysis for year-end calculations and allocations. The Controller also oversees payroll, benefits and new hire administration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensures all legal entity accounting and reporting is done promptly and accurately and in accordance with local GAAP.
  • Coordinates the monthly and yearly reporting, preparation of budgets, forecasts and any other reporting to Management and Corporate CFO.
  • Enhances current plant accounting and continuously improves performance management systems.
  • Instills strong cost control/ reporting and planning discipline.
  • Provides financial advice and assistance to management.
  • Providing key analysis and insights to guide decision making and leadership in challenging management to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Intercompany reconciliation
  • Analysis of the balance sheet and P&L items, periodic reconciliations including movement of goods.
  • Maintain contact with tax authorities, auditors, bank, tax advisor, salary administrator and financial system consultants.
  • Ensures all reporting to banks and tax authorities is done timely and accurate.
  • Prepare 13 weeks rolling forward liquidity forecast and resolve cash issues.
  • Manage the local audit process; interim and YE audits for group and statutory purposes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum 10 years accounting leadership experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial operations and cost accounting.
  • ESOP experience preferred.
  • Communication: Outstanding oral and written communication skills; articulate and able to collaborate and relate to people at all levels of the organization.
  • Results Focused: Use good judgment, sound technical skills and analytical ability.
  • Solution oriented: Forward-thinking and creative with high strong problem-solving skills. Excellent analytical skills with project management expertise.
  • High Ethical Standards: Ability to exercise sound judgment and make good decisions based on the best interests of the company.
  • Attention to Detail: Self-motivated with track record of being accurate, detail oriented, and organized while working in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Technology and Learning: Proficient with software including Microsoft Office, accounting, and payroll software. Experience using Visual Manufacturing software is a plus.

Physical Requirements: General office environment, must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear and occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel.
