The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for supporting the Quality Control department in maintaining and improving the quality of high-performance alloy equipment. This role involves a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to quality. The specialist will work closely with engineering, production, and inspection teams to ensure products and quality documentation meet customer specifications and industry standards for high-temperature and corrosive environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for the Quality Inspectors to assure all customer contract requirements are fulfilled and assist with the administration of the Quality Management System.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement corrective actions for quality issues, considering the impact on performance in extreme conditions.
  • Participate in root cause analysis investigations to identify and eliminate quality problems that may affect performance under high temperatures and corrosion.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of quality control plans and procedures specific to high-performance alloy equipment.
  • Investigate and process Non-Conforming Material reports for discrepancies on in-house parts, vendor parts, and Customer returns.
  • Perform internal audits and follow-up of corrective actions.
  • Act as company representative on customer visits.
  • Analyze inspection data and identify trends or quality issues related to high-temperature and corrosion resistance.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain detailed inspection reports and records.
  • Conduct routine inspections and tests on raw materials, work in progress, and finished products to ensure conformance to quality standards and specifications, especially for high-temperature and corrosive applications.
  • Utilize various quality control tools and equipment to perform inspections and collect data, ensuring suitability for harsh industrial environments.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in engineering, technical or vocational training in quality control or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Quality Assurance experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in creating and managing quality documents such as Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Material Test Report review, and Document packages.
  • Experience managing QC processes such as non-conforming materials (NCRs), customer returns.
  • Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) or manufacturing codes (AWS, ASME, etc.).
  • Proficiency in computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, quality management software).
  • Experience with continuous improvement of processes and Root Cause analysis.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the metalworking industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments and quality control equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications for complex industrial equipment.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
