Job DescriptionJob Description

Regional homebuilder is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to help process daily purchase orders. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for learning company purchasing policies and procedures for effective company operation. The successful candidate will also be charged with conducting regular price comparisons to ensure that the company is always getting the best possible price.

Job Requirements:

  • Maintain strong working relationships with our field staff, vendors and contractors.
  • Review purchasing agreements with vendors and maintain open lines of communications with those vendors.
  • Process & resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Good computer Skills.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Blueprint Reading.
  • Basic math.
  • Time management.
  • Document review.
  • Homebuilding experience preferred.
  • BuildPro/SupplyPro preferred.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree or higher preferred).
  • 3+ years’ experience in a purchasing role.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Able to create and administer a task priority list based on company needs.
