CONTROLLER

We have partnered with a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming lives through the power of work. The company is seeking a Controller to join their finance team. The Controller will play a critical role in maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization's overall financial operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the direction of the VP of Finance and Accounting manages and oversees all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Carries out financial reporting requirements and ensures accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
  • Plans, organizes, prioritizes, and delegates tasks within the finance team.
  • Oversees the preparation and review of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
  • Manages and coordinates internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborates with department heads to develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations as well as donor restrictions and grant requirements.
  • Performs advanced financial management duties, including the development and monitoring of budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow management.
  • Prepares and reviews financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
  • Oversees accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Manages the financial aspects of grants and donations, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and donor restrictions.
  • Supervises and mentors the finance team, ensuring effective performance management and professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an Accounting concentration from an accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years’ progressively responsible experience in accounting.
  • Well versed with SAGE 100 and/or SAGE InTACCT
  • Experience in a Non-Profit environment is a plus.
  • Experience in a multi-unit/ multi-location business.
  • Must have a proven track record of managing budgets, financial reports, and audits.
