Our construction client is seeking a Divisional Controller. You will oversee all accounting functions for the company and its subsidiaries including general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, timekeeping, and payroll. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.  Expected starting base salary $160,000 to $180,000 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee functions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, timekeeping, and cash receipts.

  • Prepare statutory reporting requirements and facilitate all external audits.

  • Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and organizational budgets and expenditures.

  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, ensuring compliance with national and local legal standards and staying informed about proposed legislation.

  • Manage the accounting department and streamline the procure-to-pay process to enhance the company’s financial health.

  • Work with external auditing services to ensure compliance with all regulations and GAAP.

Requirements:

  • Ability to instill confidence in the business and provide transparency and tools for making informed real-time business decisions.

  • Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis.

  • Knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.

  • Proven track record in financial project management.

  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills in environments where resources may not be directly controlled.

  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, and strategic planning skills.

  • Expertise in budget planning and financial management.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.

  • 15+ years of experience in Accounting.

  • 5-7 years of leadership experience.

  • Valid CPA status required.

  • Proficiency with modern accounting software required.

  • Experience with union labor required.

  • Experience in the construction or equipment industry required.

  • HRIS & Payroll software experience preferred.
