We are seeking a Lead Controls, Automation, and Data Engineer, who will report to the Senior Manager of Station Testing. This role is crucial in the development of systems necessary for designing and constructing artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

This is a full-time, exempt position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement control systems for testing specialized space-rated hardware.
  • Oversee both hardware and software aspects of Data Acquisition, PLC programming, and automation processes.
  • Manage data from collection to post-processing, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and production testing teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in control systems to ensure optimal functionality.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with programming logic (State machines, control loops, communication protocols).
  • Proficient in supporting engineering skills (Wire Harnessing, electrical diagrams, signal processing).
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Familiarity with various programming languages (Python, C/C++, ladder logic).
  • Experience with processes related to spaceflight testing (ATP/QTP).
  • 4+ years of professional experience in rapidly designing highly reliable products.
  • 4+ years of experience in testing, troubleshooting, and resolving mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Practical skills (Wiring, Machining, Soldering, Fabricating).
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends to meet critical mission objectives.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
