CCTC is seeking a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) for our Integrated Services Program. The BHC will be responsible for integrating mental/behavioral health approaches and practices by supporting parents/caregivers as well as Philadelphia Youth Basketball (PYB) center staff in meeting the mental/behavioral health needs of children and youth.

Summary of Essential Functions: 

  • Provide program consultation to Philadelphia Youth Basketball center personnel in support of developing and enhancing positive, trauma-informed learning environments.
  • Provide Philadelphia Youth Basketball staff/coaches with consultation to support the use of positive classroom and individual behavioral management strategies.
  • Provide classroom/children-youth observations to identify and make recommendations for children/youth presenting with mental/behavioral health challenges.
  • Provide clinical care coordination services to link families to needed resources including behavioral health, mental health, and other resources in the community.
  • Provide consultation to parents/caregivers regarding mental/behavioral health of their children/youth including positive parenting strategies, and psychoeducation on topics such as the impact of adversity/toxic stress on young children.
  • Provide mental health workshops for Philadelphia Youth Basketball coaches/program personnel on mutually agreed upon topics in the areas of children/young child mental/behavioral health, social emotional development, the impact of trauma on children/youth, and trauma-informed care approaches.
  • Provide mental health workshops for parents/caregivers on mutually agreed upon topics of interest such as social/emotional development, positive parenting techniques, parent/child relationship enhancement, and the impact of adversity/toxic stress on children/youth.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Develop and maintain a positive, professional, and collaborative relationship and partnership with Philadelphia Youth Basketball staff.
  • Participate in individual supervision with CBS Division Director.
  • Participate in all meetings and interdepartmental meetings, as needed.
  • Participate in internal as well as external trainings ensuring completion of CCTC’s mandatory trainings.
  • Complete all mandatory CCTC staff trainings in a timely manner.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by Division Director.

Education and/or Experience: Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.  A minimum of one year experience in providing mental/behavioral health consultation to parents/teachers and other school personnel. Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting. The ability to work effectively with diverse cultures. This individual will have strong organizational and leadership skills that serve to support CCTC’s mission and vision. Covid-19 vaccination required.
