General Position Description:

Position is responsible for the complete integration and automation of the agency Electronic Health Record (EHR), EchoVantage. The EHR Technician will work closely with leadership, agency clinical staff, and software provider, Therapy Brands, to ensure consumer data is captured efficiently and accurately to provide informed decision-making.

Performance Expectations and Competencies

  • Electronic Health Record Technician and SQL Engineer
    • Responsible for all phases of data management, design, and administrations of the organization’s Electronic Health Record (EHR), EchoVantage.
    • Maintain system security settings; setup new users; terminate users; purge system usage; update and customize EHR products; maintain client, staff and user inquiries; manage workflow; monitor client alert and system use.
    • Initiate and maintain system dictionaries and tables; manage and maintain menus; manage audit trails; create new forms and customize existing forms; create and maintain all reports, report definitions and abstracts; maintain error logs.
    • Ensure data integrity and assist with all health record audits.
    • Plan and develop ticketing system, ensuring issues, initiatives, and development are resolved in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
    • Make recommendations for system and operational enhancements.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of all systems and software as assigned by supervisor.
    • Create, organize, and provide training and support to all staff.
    • Coordinate with agency systems and software providers as necessary.
    • Completes other projects as assigned by supervisor and/or Leadership Team.

General Knowledge and Skill:

  • Knowledge/Skill in information technology for a multi-site agency regularly transmitting secure patient information both inside and outside of the agency.
  • Knowledge/Skill in the use of written/verbal communication and in the ability to analyze business needs/issues and appropriately problem solve.

Minimum and Preferred Position Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required. Preference given to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a major in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Two (2) years experience with Structured Query Language (SQL), SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS), and Form Designer preferred.
  • Experience with an EHR database strongly preferred; familiarity with EchoVantage a plus.
  • Preference given to candidates with previous IT and/or mental health clinical services experience.

Additional Job Requirements (Licenses, Certifications, Personal Vehicle, etc.):

  • Required to be on-call and work hours necessary to keep all systems operational and functional.
  • Must have the ability to effectively hear and communicate with other employees and the public.
  • Must have reliable transportation, have/maintain a valid driver’s license, and maintain adequate automobile insurance.
  • Travel is required as part of this position.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 20lbs is required of this position.
