Position Overview:

The Logistics Analyst will play a critical role in optimizing the company's supply chain operations. This position is responsible for analyzing logistics processes, developing strategies for improvement, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods from suppliers to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, data analysis, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze logistics and supply chain data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards to support decision-making.
    • Utilize advanced analytics tools to forecast demand, optimize inventory levels, and improve delivery performance.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of logistics operations.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new logistics strategies and solutions.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of logistics processes and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Upon direction, assist with the development of logistics strategies that align with evolving business objectives.
    • Assess and optimize supply chain networks, transportation routes, and distribution strategies.
    • Conduct cost-benefit analyses to evaluate potential logistics solutions and investments.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management:
    • Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of root logistics data.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to explore new data sets and applications for available data.
    • Attend Quarterly Business Reviews with Allied’s Logistics Execution teams to support continued relationship improvement and problem resolutions with vendors.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead or participate in logistics-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
    • Coordinate with various departments to support project goals and objectives.
    • Develop project plans, track progress, and report on project outcomes.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
    • Identify potential risks within the logistics process and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations that may impact logistics operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, process improvement, and strategic planning.
  • Strong proficiency in logistics and supply chain management software (e.g., TMS solutions, shipment visibility platforms) and advanced analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Experience in project management, with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Working Conditions:

  • This position will require occasional travel to vendor locations, Allied distribution centers, and/or logistics conferences.
  • The role typically involves working in an office environment, with occasional remote work flexibility.
